Located on the park’s west side near the Colorado River, Timber Creek is the only campground in Rocky Mountain National Park with RV hookups. It offers peaceful riverside campsites, easy access to hiking trails, and excellent opportunities to spot moose and elk. A great basecamp for exploring the Kawuneeche Valley and Trail Ridge Road.

Nestled just outside the park’s west entrance, Grand Lake is a charming mountain town known for its namesake lake, the largest natural lake in Colorado. Visitors can enjoy boating, paddleboarding, and lakeside strolls, or explore nearby trails in the quieter, wildlife-rich Kawuneeche Valley. It’s a perfect blend of small-town charm and outdoor adventure.

Grand Lake

One of the most popular spots in the park, Bear Lake is a scenic alpine lake with access to many trailheads. Visitors can hike to stunning destinations like Emerald Lake, Dream Lake, and Alberta Falls. A must-see for first-time visitors.

Trail Ridge Road is America's highest paved continuous road. Stretching over 48 miles and peaking at over 12,000 feet, this iconic road offers jaw-dropping panoramic views, tundra wildlife, and alpine meadows. Open seasonally (usually late May through October).

The Alpine Visitor Center is the roof of the Rockies. It is the highest visitor center in the National Park system! Located on Trail Ridge Road, it offers exhibits about alpine tundra, breathtaking views, and a chance to feel on top of the world.
