World Breastfeeding Week
Every year we celebrated women who breastfeed in the first week of August around the world. This year World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA) came out with a theme of "Prioritise breastfeeding: create sustainable support systems." It is a global campaign to raise awareness and galvanise action on themes related to breastfeeding.1WHO also supports this celebration under the "Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures" campaign, which focuses on supporting women and babies from the healthcare system through their breastfeeding journey.2
