  • Adjusting to university and the lecture-style of teaching can be challenging for a variety of reasons.
  • The Disability Service is here to support you throughout this transition and provide you with reasonable accommodations that help you make the most of your lectures.
  • For example, if you register with the Disability Service, you can avail of reasonable accommodations such as access to the lecture material in advance, if applicable to your needs.

To receive exam accommodations, you must first register with the Disability Service by completing an Application for Reasonable Accommodations. For more information on exam accommodations at Trinity, please visit the following link:

Exam Supports for Trinity Students

  • We recommend that you make your request for exam accommodations as early as possible in the academic year.
  • To recieve accommodations for Semester 1 assessments and the Foundation Scholarship assessment, the deadline is the last Friday in October.
  • To recieve accommodations for Semester 2 assessments, the deadline is the last friday in Februrary.
  • For reassments, the deadline is the last Friday in June.

Support and Peer Groups

  • The Disability Service offers different peer groups throughout the academic term for students, including the autism peer group and the ADHD peer group.
  • Some of these groups are drop-in groups, while others involve information sessions or activities.
  • These groups tend to run throughout the academic term and typically meet once a week.
  • For more information about which groups are available and their meeting times, please review the Disability Service newsletter or reach out via email to askds@tcd.ie.
  • College Health and the Student Counselling Service also offer peer groups. Please refer to their website for more information.

Campus Respite Spaces

  • There are respite spaces (sometimes called respite rooms) in several different locations on campus.
  • Respite spaces are quiet rooms decompress and take a break from the public spaces on campus which can be overstimulating for some students.
  • You can gain access to the respite spaces if they are recommended to you during your needs assessment after you register with the Disability Service.
  • If you are registered with the Disability Service and have access to the respite rooms as a reasonable accommodation you may book a room using the following link:
