Example Text Time
This is like our story book.
It will help us write story sentences.
Let me read the Example Text.
Once upon a time there was a boy called Dan.
He had red cheeks and a mop of red hair.
Dan had a dog and they had a red ball.
They rolled it in the grass and rolled in the mud,
and it rolled, and it rolled and it rolled near the big cherry tree.
Then one day, Dan went out to play.
He wanted to roll the ball all day.
But soon Dan was sad, as it disappeared.
He rolled it in the grass and rolled it in the mud,
and it rolled, and it rolled and it rolled into a deep, dark hole.
Next, Dan peered into the deep, dark hole.
“Who’s going to help me, my arms won’t reach?”
So, he asked his mum, “No, I can’t help. The mole must have it!” Then, he asked his dad, “No, I can’t help. The frog must have it!” Then, he asked his nan, “No, I can’t help. The badger must have it!” He stopped and he sat and he felt so sad . . . Would he ever see his ball again?
Later that day, something remarkable happened. POP!
On top of the mud his red ball appeared.
Dan was delighted what threw it back?
He pondered for a moment . . .
And he wondered, and he wondered
What was in the deep, dark hole? Was it a badger? Was it a frog? Or even a mole?
