Young Explorer project with Slovakia, Greece, Albania and Hungary
Fig tree class - 7.b
Partners in the project:
Greece Slovakia Albania Hungary
Aims of the project
Young Explorers was an eTwinning project that invited students to embark on a journey of cultural discovery across Europe. Through a variety of activities and collaborations, participants explored the rich culture in Europe. By exploring topics such as cuisine, heritage, folk tales, history, and more, students gained a deeper understanding of the unique characteristics that define Albania, Greece, Slovakia and Hungary. They had the opportunity to share their own cultural experiences and learn from their peers, fostering intercultural understanding and respect.
The first step of the project was for the students to get to know one another. Each student wrote a short self-introduction and created a personal avatar using Digipad.
Christmas card
The next step was for the students to prepare Christmas cards for their peers in another country.
Students online meet in December
In December, we held an online meeting where we exchanged season's greetings and played a Kahoot quiz about Christmas traditions in the four participating countries.
After that, students from each country designed a logo for the project. First, each pupil in our group created their own design. Then, they selected one logo to represent our country. Finally, each student participating in the project voted on the top four logos overall.

Collaborative story writing
Our final project was to write a collaborative story that connected the four countries through an adventure about four children—each from a different country—on a treasure hunt. During their journey, they visit all four nations, learning about their history, cultural heritage, and important figures. The final product was a shared eBook that includes all four chapters of the story.
Choosing a title for the eBook
In the final stage, we chose a title for the book. First, student groups from each of the four countries came up with their own ideas and shared their suggestions. These titles were then put to a vote, and each group selected one final title to represent them. In the end, everyone voted to choose the winning titlehe final stage, we chose a title for the book.
