Misha shared her lunch with the gelada monkey and asked for news about the black lion. The monkey pointed to where the black lion, Jember, could be found. Misha and Ziggy saw Jember’s amber eyes peeking through a bush. They counted to three and then bravely pulled the branches aside.

Jember’s eyes never left Misha. Even though Misha wanted to turn away from his strong stare, she kept eye contact, knowing that was one way for animals to trust her.
“How is this possible?” Jember asked in a low growl. “We can understand each other?”
“I can speak to animals. It’s a gift that I have,” Misha explained. “This is my twin brother, Ziggy. He has a gift too. He can shapeshift into any animal he’s close to. That means he can turn into you. Do you want to see?”
Jember’s attention turned to Ziggy, who was practically jumping on the spot waiting for a chance to shapeshift. Slowly Jember nodded. Ziggy closed his eyes and his skin turned furry and thick, his spine elongated and he fell forward onto four legs. Jember’s eyes widened when Ziggy stood in front of him, a reflection of himself.
