START A NEW LIFE AS A HIGHSCHOOLER!

Life as a high schooler is a big change. The school you go to will have a lot of people, scheduling is up to you, and there are more things you have the freedom to choose. The tests in high school, compared to middle school, will be more challenging, and studying is now required. If you adapt to your surroundings and are proactive about studying and learning, you will do great throughout high school. Knowing when to prioritize is important. For example, tell yourself that gaming or watching YouTube can come after you finish your school work. Pay attention to changes in how you feel emotionally and mentally. Managing stress and other emotions becomes more difficult in high school. Don’t be afraid to speak up to friends or ask a teacher/counselor. If you feel overwhelmed and anxious, let someone know. ALSO, study groups will be your friend. PS. Be aware of the consequences. You will be almost an adult and, in some cases, seen as an adult. If you get in trouble, the consequences are real and can affect you for the rest of your life. Be smart in your decisions and help your friends make good decisions. But treat yourself from time to time. A good balance of fun and studying is good for you!

Going to Prom?

AS a senior in highschool, you can go to prom with a group of friends. It is perfectly okay not to go. The downside is that you will have to spend money to go to prom and spend money to get nice clothes for it. You don't have to go if you are trying to save money. Be careful during prom, people can do dumb things. Enjoy Prom or stay home! +1

add + 1 on your task card
Partner!

If you like, you can choose to share your life with a partner, friend or significant other. If you choose to, some things will be cheaper while others will be more expensive. It is up to you what path you choose!

  • If you choose to have a partner check with your teacher!

Good job, sometimes people do dumb things, even if your friend gets angry, at least they won't regret their actions. +1

Graduation!

You have found a job and now must pay back your student loans. Each time you get a payday subtract your student loans. If your job is in the green column, your student loans are $7,500. If you job is in the blue columns, your student loans are $15,000.

Job Board

  • divide your student loans by 12 and add that amount to your monthly budget sheet.
  • You will pay your loans every time you land on or pass a payday.
If you pay attention, study, and do the work on time, you will do great! (if you are stressed, let someone know)

Family?

Did you want to have a family as you get older or stay with only a partner? No shame no matter which path you pick. Both paths have benefits and drawbacks.

Know that this choice will not have you stand out if you are trying to get into a good college. But it is acceptable to do.

Remember to pay yourself each time you pass or hit Payday

add +2 on your task card
