Chaos hit the city centre yesterday morning after a serious accident near the main 1. . Due to a broken 2. cars couldn’t pass safely, and several pedestrians were nearly hit while using the 3. . By 8:00 AM, the 4. was completely full, and a long 5. stretched down the street. Many people on their way to the 6. , library or 7. were delayed.
Local authorities quickly redirected traffic near the 8. and sent extra officers from the 9. to help. Meanwhile, the 10. had to provide emergency assistance to two people who were injured.
Visitors at the nearby 11. and bus stop were advised to stay 12. while city workers repaired the broken 13. and cleared the 14. of debris.

As the weather cools down, it's the perfect time to turn your home into a warm and welcoming retreat. Start by rearranging your furniture. Move your favourite 1. closer to the 2. , and throw a soft 3. over it for extra comfort. Add some colourful 4. to your 5. and make sure your 6. match the season – think warm oranges or browns. A thick 7. or carpet can instantly make the room feel more 8. underfoot.
If you have a small 9. , consider using the space for storage or as a peaceful reading area. A 10. filled with your favourite novels, a soft 11. , and a leafy 12. on the windowsill can work wonders.
Don’t forget your 13. , either! A well-placed 14. or decorative 15. can help draw the eye upward, making the space feel taller and brighter. And of course, the 16. should be ready for warm family dinners – add a fresh runner or seasonal centrepiece.

This weekend, I finally did something I’ve been putting off for ages—cleaning and reorganising my 1. . It all started when I noticed the 2. was leaking again, and while fixing the 3. , I realised how messy everything had become. I cleared out every 4. and wiped down the 5. . I even deep-cleaned the 6. , inside and out. While I was at it, I emptied the 7. and 8. , tossing out anything expired.
Later, I moved to the laundry area. I gave the 9. a good clean and finally descaled the 10. , which had been on my to-do list forever. In the hallway, I installed a new 11. for extra storage and placed a small 12. above it—it really opens up the space.
My bedroom also got some love. I sorted through the 13. , refolded all the clothes, and checked if the 14. was working properly. It’s amazing how much better everything feels now.

It all began on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Anna was sitting in her favourite 1. near the 2. , sipping hot chocolate and listening to the storm outside. The wind howled through the old house, making the 3. sway slightly and the 4. flutter.
Bored and curious, Anna decided to explore the old 5. . She climbed the creaky 6. leading up to the small wooden 7. . Inside, she found boxes of dusty books, old paintings, and an unfamiliar key. The key didn’t fit anything in the 8. or the 9. , so she went down to the dining table to investigate. Behind the 10. , she noticed a narrow gap in the wall. Her heart pounded as she inserted the key into a hidden 11. —and the wall moved.
Inside was a tiny, forgotten room with a worn 12. , a soft rug on the 13. , and a neatly made bed with a thick 14. . . There was even a small 15. filled with folded clothes and an antique 16. in the corner. Who had stayed there? And why was it hidden?

Choosing the right place to live is about more than just location. The type of home you choose affects your lifestyle, routines, and comfort. A 1. is perfect for people who prefer everything on one level—no stairs, just simple living. A 2. , often found in the countryside, offers charm and peace, often with a small 3. and lovely views. In the suburbs, you’ll often find a 4. , which offers privacy, space, and often a 5. for your car. In contrast, a 6. is great if you enjoy a social atmosphere and don’t mind sharing walls with neighbours.
City dwellers often prefer a 7. , especially for convenience and affordability. Even small flats can feel cosy if you have a comfy 8. , colourful 9. and a good 10. for your favourite reads.
Don’t forget practical features, too. A well-equipped 11. with a modern 12. and a quiet 13. can make daily tasks easier. And for those who love a tidy space, remember to regularly 14. the floor!

The local 1. has announced a number of improvements to the town centre to improve daily life for 2. . A new 3. has been built near the library and police station, offering more space for both local workers and visitors. This should help reduce traffic, especially during 4. . Several old flats above the shops will be renovated and turned into affordable 6. for young professionals. These modern flats will be fully 7. , with a small kitchen, a clean bathroom, and a bright living room. Each unit will include 8. , Wi-Fi, and laundry facilities. The local 9. is also being expanded to include more eco-friendly products, and a new rubbish collection system will be introduced to encourage recycling. New 10. for paper, glass, and plastic will be placed outside homes and public buildings. To improve the appearance of the area, workers will clean the 11. , repaint damaged walls, and repair broken windows and 12. . New street lights and more 13. crossings will make it safer to walk around at night. A small public 14. will be created behind the town hall, with 15. and a play area for children. Residents are also being asked to help by keeping their front steps tidy and doing small 16. chores like sweeping and watering plants. Local officials say the project should be finished by next spring and will make the town centre more pleasant, safer, and better connected for everyone.

How to use
The aim of these activities is to review vocabulary sets at the level of B1/B1+ especially with students preparing for the 8th grader's exam. The set contains 2 topics based on Repetytorium ósmoklasisty, Nowa Era, Accommodation and Traveling. The teacher gets two types of cloze texts that can be used as a revision during the lesson but also as the extra homework practice to reinforce students' knowledge. Each exercise can be checked by the student independently so the students can also check themselves. Teacher's notes contain all the included texts with the correct answers.
CLASS ACTIVITY - show students the text and ask them to work it out themselves. Check the activity when everybody has finished. CLASS COMPETITION - divide students into groups/pairs and give them a limited amount of time. Ask ss to work out the answers together. Finally check the answers with the students aloud and assign points for each correct answer. SMALL GROUPS - divide students into small groups of 3/4 and ask them to sit together. Tell them to read sentence by sentence each and fill in the missing infortmation. Then check together on the board.
