Complex and Broken System
Food waste is one of the most overlooked sustainability challenges of our time. It reflects social inequality. While the poor do not have enough food to survive, the poor excesses the food to the point of wasting. When we waste the food, we also waste all the natural resources used to produce it - water, labour, land and energy. Moreover, food waste ending up in landfill releases methane, a potent greenhouse gas contributing to climate change. Many people are unaware of how their daily habits - like overbuying, misreading expiration or serving oversized portions - contribute to this issue. By understanding the hidden costs of food waste and our role in it, we can start making small changes leading to big impacts. Reducing food waste is not just about saving food, it is about respecting what we have, protecting the environment and shaping a more sustainable future.
If everyone wasted food, what would the world look like? Are you a part of the solution of food waste or a part of the reason that keep it worst?Do you know that every time you throw away a plate of food, you are also wasting over 300 litters of water, hours of labour, electricity and land?
Ecological Conversion
Grounded in the values of respecting natural resources, social equality, stewardship, and collaboration, our project tackles the urgent issue of food waste. These values will shape and raise the awareness of humans about food's role in daily life. Without food waste, nobody in the world will not suffer from hunger, gradually reducing the social equality.
Do your personal values support your food habits? Can you envision a planet with sufficient and healthy food? What do you think about your role in shaping this future?
Reconciling with Creation
Can we create a future that nourishes life and minimizes food waste?
Can we truly become caretakers of the earth through our food habits?
Seeking New Paths
We are on the way to seek for a sustainable system to distribute food sensitively for everyone. With our empathy, we can leverage food waste to give it for the hunger.
How can we build a system distributing food more equally? How can we develop empathy to become better caretakers of those who go hungry?
