Ibini, here! Follow me!
What a great trip from Ebla! We rode donkeys with a long caravan to arrive in Sumer. I look forward to hearing the war stories from Lagaš and walking in the steps of the great hero Gilgameš! So exciting!
Greetings from the Levant!
My name is Mānum, I come from Megiddo in the Levant! It is very faraway and I made a long trip though the desert to come to Sumer. I am a diviner and this trip is for me my sabbatical leave to study divination. The Sumerian diviners are so famous ! I hope to meet several of them and hopefully to study with one of them. I am planning to stay in Sumer for a full year, maybe more.
Aburlim and Ibinilim from Ebla!
We come from the faraway city of Ebla in the north. I often do the trip to Sumer because I am a merchant, but this time, I took my son, Ibinilim, with me. It is his first time in Sumer. He is studying cuneiform and Sumerian to become a scribe, so I want to introduce him to the fabulous Sumerian culture. For me, it is also a good opportunity to take some holidays and to visit the places I never had time to see before! I want to take him to Nippur and Uruk, and to attend shows and festivals. It is a long trip for us this time.
I am Pilkisa, good day from Susa!
I come from Susa, at the feet of the mountain range bordering Sumer in the East. The relationships between my city and Sumer have not always been great, but when I came to visit a cousin, who now lives in the Lagaš province, I fell in love with the country and the Sumerians! We travelled around the province following a god’s boat trip, and went to Ur. My second trip in Sumer was shorter: only two weeks with my cousins in Nippur and Isin. But for my third visit, I booked a river cruise to follow the god Enki on his trip between Eridu and Nippur.
Hello, I'm Iltani from Subir.
Subir is in the north of Sumer. I love Sumer, since my first trip in Nippur. I am fascinated by the long history of this country and by the cuneiform literature. During my second trip, I went to Uruk and Ur. This time, I would like to visit the ancient kingdom of Lagaš, but I also want to pay a visit to my friends in Uruk and Nippur. It will be a long trip.
Hi there! Bazi from Mari!
I come from the city and kingdom of Mari, further north from Sumer, on the Euphrates river. There are many caravans between Mari and Sumer. I lover Sumer and I have good friends there (in Eridu and Uruk), so I come quite often, every 2-3 years or so. There is so much to discover! This year, I want to attend the akiti-festival.
