About me
Eleonora Castaldi
After graduating from the High school of Arts Alberti-Dante, I decided to continue with my work ... But suddenly Covid made its reappearance, which led me to take a sabbatical year and reflect on myself . In that year, I taught myself and learned everything I needed to be able to write a screenplay. It didn't take long for me to create my own tv show project The Watchers, and focus on my film career. Now I’m studying in the Academy of fine arts in Florence.
Fictophilia: Veneration in the internet era
The book based on my university thesis explores the emotional and affective bonds that fans develop towards fictional characters and celebrities, analyzing how fandom dynamics are merging with typical religious practices.Through the analysis of phenomena such as parasocial relationships, the impact of artificial intelligence (such as Character.AI), and new digital spiritualities such as shifting, the thesis highlights the emergence of a contemporary "neoreligiosity." Specific cases are examined, including Loki's transformation from deity to pop icon and news stories or pseudo-cults linked to Harry Potter and Slenderman. The work concludes with the artistic project "Fictomancy," an installation that reflects on the creation of "new gods" and the persistence of the sacred, which does not disappear but evolves into profane and technological forms.

Workday exposition
Since the theme of the open call is work, in all its facets, I chose to represent it through photography, recounting my father's workday, step by step, starting from the moments before entering the factory. The work aims to show the worker in all its dimensions, without proposing solutions or making explicit complaints, but rather restoring reality for what it is. The choice of black and white, with its grayscale, is intended to underscore how reality is never just black or white, but rather made up of nuances.
Format: A3 paper
Proposta Premio Coppini
I took part in the Premio Paolo Coppini 2026 open call by submitting my artistic proposal, in response to the call promoted by Coppini Arte Olearia.
My submission explores how the oil is seen as material in the point of view of science, and how a simple thing such as oil can be beautiful and ethereal on the inside. I made it almost look like a sculpture as if it was an ancient scripture (pretty much like Egiptian hieroglyphs) where you can see in the small cells I've created, unique scenes and figure engraved into the stone.

Art Open call for "Museum of Love"
The work explores the concept of a predestined encounter between soulmates through the metaphor of the river and the universe. Colors become expressive tools to represent emotions, connections, and internal conflicts. The work creates an ethereal and abstract dialogue, evoking the search, recognition, and union between two presences destined to intersect. The idea of "fate" and soulmate intertwines with symbols of time and waiting, transforming the project into a visual and sensorial experience suspended between reality and imagination.
Fandomanzia
The workshop project, titled "Fictomancy: How to Create a God," is an installation that explores the connection between traditional devotion and digital culture. The work consists of a sculpture of Moses, seen as a critic of the new technological idolatry, observing a red basin transformed into a "profane altar." In front of the statue, a framed tablet plays a video summarizing the thesis, demonstrating the creation of hybrid idols through the physical and digital manipulation of religious images and fandom characters.
Fallen Angels
“Fallen Angels” is a film created within the laboratory “Actors for Active Citizenship” of the Alberti-Dante Institute in Florence. The plot was born from an idea by Eleonora Castaldi and from the reworking by Professor Rodolfo Vezzosi, influenced by references to some songs by Franco Battiato. The draft screenplay is enriched by ideas and performances by all the students, supported by external experts: Filippo Belperio, Valentina Grigò and Francesca Stampone.
Obsessive - VideoArt
Video performance created for the workshop Dante's Inferno during my stay at Academy of Fine arts of Florence. Using Dante's showcasing of Hell, I used my own experiences and traumas regarding my OCD disorder, I recreated the feelings and symptoms of it through a dance choreography, wearing a red veil as a reference to Dante himself. Duration: 2:30 "
Senara
Inspired by the Irish saint Senara, the archangel of love Camael, and fantasy characters, we created the Goddess Senara, the central figure of a new religion. Originating from another universe, she dies and becomes a servant of her gods, eventually discovering her divine powers. This sparks a war between gods and leads to the creation of planet Earth. Her religion centers on constant transformation and the mental well-being of her followers.Duration: 1:00 "
Video Mapping
We drew inspiration from the Vaporwave aesthetic, a movement born online in the early 2010s that blends nostalgia for the '80s and '90s with dreamlike and surreal atmospheres. To evoke this imagery, we composed three triangles of different sizes: the first two form a pyramid, while two right-angled triangles create a rhomboid shape that represents the sun. This geometry recalls the symbolic landscapes typical of Vaporwave, with valleys, mountains, and a central setting sun. We used a fitting color palette with shades of orange, fuchsia, purple, white, and blue.

Art Exhibition done in Empoli by the Academy of Fine Arts of Florence and professor Federico Bucalossi. Me along with other artists had the chance to expose our work. Mine was a video performance that simulates an unboxing to reveal a disturbing dialogue between the artist and their inner child, embodied in a doll. The light-hearted format clashes with an intimate and painful narrative, exposing how we often become the ones who perpetuate the wounds we once received. The work explores trauma, dissociation, and self-sabotage, showing how—even after the violence has ended—we continue to carry its effects. A raw but necessary confrontation with one's own childhood.
