"European Voices: Youth Documentaries on Unity and Change" is a collaborative project that brings eTwinners closer to understanding the European Union—its history, its impact on our lives, and the challenges it faces today. Through creativity, research, and teamwork, students explored topics like EU institutions, youth concerns, and climate change. They also celebrated Europe’s rich cultural heritage on key days like Europe Day, nurturing a sense of unity and shared identity. Working in transnational teams, they produced short video documentaries—featuring special guests and even handmade puppet presenters! Curious to see what they discovered? Let their voices guide you!

Cultural Quest: Discover your partners' country
Partners did research, shared what they learned, and worked in mixed teams to co- create three presentations with Canva:
- One about Italy crafted by Spain and Turkey
- One about Spain crafted by Italy and Turkey
- One about Turkey crafted by Italy and Spain
Each school reviewed the presentations about their own country, created by their partners, and wrote 4 questions based on them. All questions were sent to Miss Isabel in Spain, who created a Kahoot quiz, launched during the online event.
Each school gave their partners 10 topics to explore about their own country—like food, traditions, famous people, and landmarks.

After analyzing resources, searching for new ones, and doing activities, each partner school chose two eSafety-related topics and created questions about them
All the questions were sent to our partner from Spain, Miss Isabel, who created a Kahoot quiz.
We also used materials from past eTwinners—eTwinning is a treasure to reuse and share!

Exploration and Learning Phase:
engagement phase
We used a wheel to activate students’ prior knowledge about European special days and spark curiosity. Students guessed which days were truly European and which were global, engaging in critical thinking and discussion.
After the game, students researched each special day, discovering its history, meaning, and how it’s celebrated across Europe. And to test them a new game created using Wordwall
european day of languages
Members from each partner school edited the gallery in CoSpaces: they chose sections to display the posters and added animated characters explaining their meaning. The schools that had VR headsets visited the gallery virtually.

They used a TwinPoll in the shape of a cloud to suggest a digital tool suitable for creating a digital gallery to showcase all the posters. COSPACES won!
Students used digital tools or arts and crafts to create their posters and uploaded them to Padlet.
For those who were not familiar with CoSpaces, we provided a step-by-step guide to join the class. We also included tutorials created by Spanish pupils from a previous project in the Digital tool Library

Students reflected on the value of educationThey watched a video and explored other resources about the global situation of education and the right to education. Then, they shared one thing they were grateful for or a skill they had learned. They used Canva to add their messages to the tree from Señorío de Bertiz in Navarra so that each branch could carry their voices in support of education for all.
europe day and eTwinning's 20th birthday

On May 9th, pupils celebrated peace, unity, and shared European values for Europe Day and eTwinning’s 20th anniversary. Each partner school created a short video to express what eTwinning means to them, reflect on Europe’s journey, and share messages of Friendship, Change, and Hope. The videos were uploaded to a new interactive Padlet called Sandbox. A second slide provided clear instructions, turning the process into an opportunity to develop digital skills while making the experience more engaging and collaborative.

We created a Padlet with five columns, each representing one of the most frequently suggested topics by our eTwinners in the Forum. Pupils visited the Padlet and added their names under the topic that interested them most. This allowed us to form transnational teams, bringing together students from different countries to collaborate.

We kicked off the meeting by presenting the main challenge:"How can we make a fun, engaging TV programme about the EU?"We looked at different creative formats to get inspiration from other youth programs. We brainstormed together: “What can we do to make our episodes interesting for young people?” Students shared ideas via chat and microphone. Most suggested using Muppet-style puppets to make the videos more fun and engaging and contributed creative suggestions for protecting privacy, such as using sunglasses, wigs, masks, or animated characters.
They also proposed subtopics to explore within each transnational team’s episode. .
We organized activities for trasnational teams in this presentation:
Finally, students discussed and voted on the best digital tools for editing their videos, helping each team choose the one that suited them best.
team 1 creates 3-minute snapshots on eu origins
Each group worked collaboratively to write a clear, engaging script (max 3 minutes) and chose a “reporter” to present their subtopic with clarity and enthusiasm, just like a real TV presenter.
Students chose their favourite video editing tools from those suggested during the online meeting. Some teams even created tutorials to support their partners and uploaded them in our Digital Tool Library.
Each school team filled in the table with the subtopic they chose for their video. Then, they consulted the resources shared by their teachers in the EU Library.
Students applied eSafety and privacy ideas from the online meeting — using sunglasses, masks, or puppets
Each partner school recorded and edited their video, carefully followed copyright rules by using royalty-free content and crediting sources
Once their video was ready, each partner school uploaded their final episode to a shared Digipad.

From Snapshots to our EU puppet show
let's craft the stars of the show
Each school discussed the type of puppet they wanted to create. Some partner schools chose animal puppets, while others preferred human characters. Some crafted their puppets from scratch using thread, needles, scissors, foam, and fabric; others repurposed old socks, sweaters, recycled materials, or even repaired worn-out soft toys. We also provided copyright-free tutorials to guide them in creating their own Muppet-style puppets. Imagination and creativity always came out on top!

Then, each partner school recorded their video with the presenter and puppet based on their script.
Each school chose one episode centered on one of the five main topics
Each school analyzed partners' videos and wrote a coherent, witty script for the main presenter and puppet using the tips provided for them
Each school edited their video episode using tools like Canva or CapCut, proposed during the online meeting. Thanks to shared tutorials, video editing wasn’t a challenge. Final episodes were uploaded to dedicated TwinSpace pages for each episode.
Designing Covers & Selecting Tools to share our documentaries
Partner schools created covers for both the website and the episodes, then uploaded their proposals with short descriptions on a Twinboard and voted for the final covers
We brainstormed the best ways to promote our amazing video series by an AnswerGarden word cloud. Most pupils proposed to build a website
Students voted through a Google Form to select the most suitable platform to build a website. Canva was their favourite one

good bye messages
In this section, our students shared warm Christmas wishes with their European friends, celebrating unity, joy, and cultural traditions through creative cards and digital greetings.
Here, we present the goodbye messages prepared by our students to express their gratitude and reflections on this unforgettable journey. These messages mark the emotional conclusion of our shared eTwinning experience.
key ingredients of our project
- COLLABORATION
- COMMUNICATION
- FLEXIBILITY
- ENTHUSIASM
- TRUST
- INSPIRING EACH OTHER
OUR STRENGTHS
SHARING IS CARING
Effective communication is the key to working together as a team. We held a meeting with families to inform them about the project plan and, about Privacy, Data protection and Copyright. Families signed the Privacy consent forms.
Communication was necessary in order to know the progress of the project, to plan future activities, to give information about the roles for a particular task. The starting point was the sharing of the draft of the Project plan with all the partners by a common google doc. Everyone could make suggestions
Throughout the project the original plan was modified in some parts because we took into consideration the feedback of our pupils, the results of our chats, the mid survey, So, the keywords were MONITORING - FLEXIBILITY- COOPERATION
COMMUNICATION
Online meetings with pupils were used to get to know each other, to share opinions, to discuss, to make decisions
Communication was frequent. We used many channels!
Let's spin the wheel. Who shares this passionn?Unmute your microphone and talk
Guess the European Value
messenger group was created and used for faster information
online meetings were used to discuss about the project plan, activities, and distribution of the tasks
emails were used to sum up what we had said during the videoconferences and to give more detailed information
Shared google docs with information about the tasks and external links to help pupils complete their work when the ESEP platform was under maintenance or didn't work properly
MONITORING
We also considered the results of all the surveys we conducted and analysed throughout the project. We began with pre-surveys for students, families, and teachers to identify needs and expectations.
Monitoring had an important role because it allowed us to make adjustments in our teaching methods and strategies but also in the planning of future activities. Moreover it gave us the chance to provide feedback to pupils.A component of monitoring was the systematic observation of pupils at work and play, how they interacted with teachers and with peers, their involvement in the project activities.
PRE SURVEY FOR TEACHERS
PRE SURVEY FOR PUPILS
PRE SURVEY FOR FAMILIES
We then carried out a midway survey for students to adjust and improve the project plan based on their feedback.
MIDWAY SURVEY FOR PUPILS
- Do I listen to my pupils' opinions ?
- How much are they involved in this type of activity?
- Are my pupils having difficulties to do this task?
- Are pupils interacting with their peers?
- Are they collaborating with their team?
- Is each of them contributing to the final product?
- Are they respecting the deadline?
For the project final evaluation we considered continuity of participation, completion of products, and the final surveys for pupils, families and teachers.

DISSEMINATION
Dissemination is about making the main results/outputs of a project visible to key actors, especially end users, relevant target audience and decision makers. The dissemination of the project to different target groups is contributing to give a high visibility to the institutions/organizations that carried out the project, to inspire other institutions/organizations and to promote new school cooperations for future projects.
