Storytelling of our Project2024-25

About our Project

About our Project

PARTICIPANT SCHOOLS AND TEACHERS

"Conscious Environmental Protectors" turned our eTwinners into young eco-champions, working together to tackle global environmental issues. They explored key topics like waste reduction, energy saving, water conservation, and wildlife protection. By researching sustainable practices and sharing ideas, they found ways to improve their daily habits and communities. Working in transnational teams they combined their efforts to create a fun, educational board game that challenges players with eco-tasks and sustainability questions. This creative tool not only raises awareness but also encourages teamwork and critical thinking. By sharing their game and insights, these students inspire others to take action, showing that everyone can make a difference in building a greener future.

coding together for a safer internet world

We took part in EU Code Week (14–26 October 2024) by co-creating a collaborative eSafety Diorama in CoSpaces, built together by all partner schools. Here are the steps we followed:

We provided instructions to join the class and the assignment created in Cospaces- there were 3 seats for each partner school

Each partner school chose one eSafety topic from the shared table to represent in the diorama

Each partner school added text, videos, infographics, 3D objects, animations

We provided a tutorial for those partners who had never used Cospaces before

Brainstorming: Pupils shared their thoughts on our planet's challenges through a TwinPoll, which generated this word cloud.

We soon got started by sharing a simple video about the 2030 Agenda on YouTube

We used a third TwinPoll to explore how confident students felt discussing this topic in English. The results showed a need for support with both concepts and vocabulary throughout the project.

We used a second TwinPoll to explore pupils’ knowledge of the 2030 Agenda goals

we created a game with LearningApps to help students reinforce what they learned from the video.

Content Exploration

Warming- up:

Students explored a Digipad with videos, games, articles, and links curated by teachers to deepen their understanding of waste reduction and practice English vocabulary.

Students took part in an interactive Nearpod activity, co-created by all teachers, to explore how our daily actions impact the health of our planet.

Each partner school proposed a challenge focused on reducing waste and then they voted. The winner was the Trash Monster!

An online meeting was held where each school presented its Trash Monster. All creations were uploaded to a shared Digipad for everyone to explore.

Students created 3D “Trash Monsters” using recycled materials, each with a message to raise awareness about proper waste disposal. They shared their creations on TwinSpace

Students first explored a Digipad curated by teachers, featuring videos, games, articles, and links to deepen their understanding of how energy is produced and its different forms, while also practicing English vocabulary.

Then, they participated in a forum where they identified electrical devices used at home and school, and shared practical tips for reducing energy consumption. They were encouraged to read and respond to their peers' suggestions.

After the online meeting-

Each school designed an Energy Hero Badge, then voted for the best in a TwinPoll. Finally, they created and shared posters, videos, and other works on a Padlet. To protect students' privacy, teachers took charge of officially launching the campaign on Facebook and Instagram once the Padlet was complete.

Each partner school proposed a challenge to save energy. Then they voted for the best one. The most voted was the Switch off campaign

Students met online to plan the energy-saving campaign and set badge criteria.

RULES FOR PARTICIPANTS

Participants were invited to browse the shared works, like and comment on their favorites. To earn the Energy Hero Badge, they had to interact with at least 3 posts, then follow a link to claim their badge and share it on their social page by adding the campaign hashtag.

Students engaged with activities and games uploaded by partner teachers on the Digipad to familiarize themselves with new vocabulary and key concepts.

Water Challenge: Track, Talk, Take Action

Water Challenge: Track, Talk, Take Action

Students brainstormed daily water-related actions, then each student tracked their time spent on these activities over three days. They calculated totals, discussed ways to save water, and shared their findings in the forum.

All eTwinners shared their ideas for a water-saving challenge in an AnswerGarden cloud. The most voted was the Water Diary, so we prepared a template to track daily water use over 3 days by recording time spent on different activities.

Wildlife Challenge: take a photo, caption it and share

Wildlife Challenge: take a photo, caption it and share

We launched a poll asking pupils to suggest our the wildlife challenge. The most popular idea? Taking photos!

Pupils took photos of either endangered species or unique biodiversity in their country and shared and discussed them in the TwinSpace forum.

After seeing so many great photos, we asked: What can we do with them? Most pupils suggested creating a virtual gallery to showcase the best entries.

We launched another vote, and pupils chose Genially as the platform to design our collaborative photo gallery.

Each school selected their best photos and uploaded them to our shared Genially presentation. The result: a stunning photo gallery featuring ten winning photos from across the project

ORGANIZATION OF TRANSNATIONAL TEAMS

ORGANIZATION OF TRANSNATIONAL TEAMS

Students were divided into four transnational teams based on their interests, strengths, and engagement in past activities.

TEAM 1- WASTE REDUCTION

a quick recap

Team 1 focused on waste reduction, so they collaborated in a shared forum to develop creative ideas for the final eco-game.

Team 1 also created 7 game cards related to their topic using the Canva card template provided. The Team consisted of members from 7 schools, so each partner school had to create only 1 of the seven cardsHere’s how the cards were divided:

During the online meeting most pupils proposed to use Canva to craft the game

🟢 2 Eco-Challenge cards – Pose an environmental problem 🟢 3 Eco-Action cards – Reward eco-friendly behavior 🟢 2 Penalty cards – Show the consequences of harmful actions

Here is the table where the members of Team 1 selected their tasks

They worked on a shared Canva board template where there was a spiral with 36 round spaces. Team 1 was responsible to decorate spaces 1–9 of the game board. They customized the background and added icons, images, or symbols related to waste reduction—such as recycling bins, composting, or reusable items.

communication and collaboration

We collaborated to design each phase of the project plan. Teachers communicated daily through a WhatsApp group, and to plan tasks, we organised online meetings for teachers, students, and transnational teams.

assessment

Monitoring was crucial in our eTwinning project to adjust teaching methods, improve activities, and ensure overall success. We systematically observed students’ interactions, engagement, and participation. A common rubric, agreed upon by all teachers, was used to assess key skills such as communication, ICT use, focus, collaboration, and involvement in TwinSpace. Additionally, we conducted pre-surveys for students, teachers, and families, followed by a midway survey. We analysed all the data collected to adjust tasks and refine the project plan accordingly. Final surveys were administered to parents, students, and teachers, and we conducted a comparative analysis of all surveys to identify strengths and areas for improvement for future projects.

dissemination

WWe used many channels to disseminate our project... because sharing is Caring!
