Friendship Fans

2024-25

We are glad to announce that our e-twinning project, “Friendship Fans”, has successfully been completed. During this school year, 2024-25, the sixth graders of 21st Primary School of Ilioupolis collaborated with pupils from a school in Poland and schools in Italy, using English as a common language of communication.

The safe collaborative platform (twinspace) of etwinning allowed students from three European countries to interact with each other. It also encouraged authentic communication and collaboration. In transnational groups the etwinners from the partner schools created shared digital products, such as cards, posters, poems and stories, focusing on the theme of friendship.

The goal of the project was for the students involved to recognize the characteristics of friendship and understand its value.

The project activities were organized into twinspace Pages.

The project began with the partners getting to know each other on a shared digital board on the etwinning platform.

We virtually visited each other's school through google maps and explored the areas around the schools. In the Etwinning Forum we discussed our interests and school life.

Through digital games and other interactive activities we dealt with digital citizenship. In this way, we would be able to apply our digital knowledge and skills in the best possible way. We collaboratively created an ebook on esafety and netiquette.

21st Primary School of Ilioupolis etwinners participated in Safer Internet Day's activities through Safer Internet 4 Kids Resources and our school was a supporter of #SID25.

In transnational groups we created Christmas cards.

We collaborated with our partners to create friendship challenges. We wrote them on slips of paper and put them in jars or alternatively on a digital calendar. Each time somebody carried out a challenge of friendship, s/he made a carton ring so that when connected each school would create a long chain with acts of friendships.

All partners brainstormed ideas and words related to friendship and produced this word cloud:

On a common digital board we exchanged our views on what true friends are, why we need friends and how we can make friends.

At the end of the section about our thoughts on friendship we focused on 16 adjectives which characterize a good friend and practised them in an interactive game of flashcards.

On our online meeting we played BINGO using these 16 adjectives. We also shared information about our school and town.

In transnational groups we created posters about friendship.

We self reflected on friendship characteristics each of us possesses. We wrote them on petals of flowers we drew.

We discussed with our partners how we can keep our friends and how we can resolve conflict in a friendship.

We exchanged Easter cards with wishes on a twinboard of our Twinspace.

Since friends together fight against any form of violence, we dealt with the topic of bullying. So we shared our thoughts on bullying on a common twinboard.

Finally, in transnational groups we created our collaborative stories related to bullying.
