Assessment

Provide a safe, repeatable, and low-stress practice environment for students with anxiety, learning difficulties, or limited workplace experience.

How to evaluate using VR4VET?

Automated evaluation: Each scenario includes an automated performance score based on the user´s responses, timing and behaviour. This can be used for self-assessment, progress tracking, or formative grading. Live Observation (teacher or peer): Using screen casting, the teacher or peers can observe the VR performance in real time and assess:

  1. Language use (fluency, pronunciation, vocabulary)
  2. Non-verbal communication (posture, eye contact, tone of voice)
  3. Problem-solving and customer interaction strategies.
Video Review and reflection: If screen recording is available, students and teachers can watch parts of the session after the activity. This allows:
  1. Student self-reflection using prompts
  2. Peer or teacher feedback using scenario-based checklists
  3. Group discussions on effective strategies and points for improvement
Teachers are encouraged to align assessment methods with their course goals and grading system. Even when not used for formal assessment, reflection and feedback based on the written scenarios offer valuable learning moments.
