PROJECT ETWINNING A.S. 2024/25

Summary

The project proposed the realization of experiments in monthly activities. Once the choice of experiments to be carried out had been agreed upon, each month the preschool children carried them out in the established order and the teachers documented them through suggestive photos.

Safer Internet day

11 February 2025

Safer Internet Day, or World Day for Safety on the Net, is an annual event promoted by the European Commission to raise awareness of the risks and opportunities of the internet, especially among young people. Each school reflects on the meaning of the network, on the importance of conscious use to understand the dangers and opportunities it offers and to learn how to protect oneself and others online.

Happy Birthday eTwinning

Our song for E-Twinning's 20th birthday. It was created with the words suggested by students from all partner schools with the help of artificial intelligence and the Suno app.

Doing science with children is ...asking questions, observing, experimenting, sharing what was observed, formulating hypotheses and solutions. Children free to act and experiment were the protagonists of their learning. The children expressed amazement and wonder at these experiences of knowledge!

THE FLYING BALOON For this experiment you will need a 500 ml bottle, 250 ml of vinegar and a balloon filled with bicarbonate. The teacher attaches the balloon to the mouth of the bottle, being careful not to let the bicarbonate spill out. The children receive the bottle with the balloon attached and must lift the balloon so that the bicarbonate falls into the bottle, causing the balloon to inflate following the chemical reaction between vinegar and bicarbonate.

RUNNING WATER The running water experiment is an experiment that not only satisfies children's curiosity about "running water", but also the final result where they observe what colors are obtained. You will need 3 transparent glasses for each child, watercolors or food coloring and paper napkins. The glass in the center remains empty, fill the side ones with water and add the watercolors/food coloring and paper napkins from the one with colored water to the empty one. We will obtain new colors in the empty glass as the water flows. From red and blue we will obtain purple, from red and yellow-orange, from blue and yellow-green.

SKITTLES RAINBOWArrange the Skittles in a circle on the outer curve of the plate. Carefully pour the hot water into the center of the plate, so that the Skittles are half submerged. Watch as the color of the Skittles slowly begins to spread toward the center of the plate, creating a stunning rainbow effect!

SCARED PEPPER For the "Scary Pepper" experiment, we need a deep plate, pepper, water, liquid soap and an earwax swab (optional) (children can use their finger). In the plate with water, the child adds pepper and, with his finger or the swab, a drop of liquid soap. The pepper disperses, and the children learn from this experiment the importance of washing their hands. The pepper represents viruses that are usually not visible to the naked eye.

DANCING COLORSPour a little milk into the dish, just enough to completely cover the bottom to a depth of a little more than half a centimeter. Gently add a few drops of each of the four food colorings (red, yellow, blue, green) to the milk. The colored drops should be in the center of the surface of the milk. Place a drop of liquid detergent on the end of the cotton swab and bring it to the center of the mix, immersing it for 10 or 15 seconds... and admire the magic of the colors! Try touching the swab, in different places, to the surface of the milk. You should notice that the colors are still moving in the milk!
