Florida's NAEP scores

The National Assessment of Educational Progress assigns average scores to each state based on students' performances in different subjects. In 2019 (before COVID hit the state), Florida's eighth graders scored an average of 279 in mathematics, and 263 in reading. In 2022, they received a 271 in math and 260 in reading. In 2024, they received a 267 in math and 253 in reading. Overall, scores have steadily decreased since the pandemic.
