silent prayer guide
holding grief with god
Use this presentation as a prayer guide, praying about and considering the grief you carry and the God who carries you in it.
Acknowledgment:
My GRIEF IS MINE.
Sit quietly and name your grief, not out loud, but in your heart. Remember: no one else sees it quite the way you do. This loss touches a part of you that only you know. Let that truth settle without needing to explain it.
Thankfulness:
YOU SEE MY GRIEF, GOd.
Take a moment to simply be thankful that God sees it all, not just what was lost, but everything it meant to you. You don’t have to translate your grief for him. He already understands it. Sit with that: the comfort of being fully seen.
REQUEST:
GIVE ME THE SPACE I NEED.
Ask God to make room in your spirit, space to be honest, space to not rush, space to feel whatever rises up. Pray for the freedom to not fix anything, just be in it. Pray for the ability to trust that grieving is allowed.
RECEIVING:
THE SPACE I NEED IS SACRED.
Recognize that the space where you and God sit with griefis not empty, it’s holy. You don’t have to do anything in this grieving. Just remain. God grants that space to all who need it.
EXTENDING:
HELP ME HOLD SPACE FOR OTHERS.
Ask for the gentleness to let others grieve in their own way. Pray that you’d reflect God’s patience and kindness by not rushing them, correcting them, or comparing pain. Let love be your posture.
Thank You
You're all amazing people helping other amazing people.
