The World in your Hands
The World in our Hands
Together for Water
(Marathi)
I wanted to design a poster to show how the world needs safe hands to preserve water. To do this, we all need to make our own contributions – I have included my ideas form individual to rainforest, all caught up and grounded in a safe pair of worldly hands.

The Importance of Water
(Te Reo)
I wanted this to write in a language I was learning at school in New Zealand before I moved here. The language is a dying language and we are trying to resurrect its importance. We use our language to describe the importance, almost the sacredness, of nature and water is nature, therefore water is beautiful and water is life. Let us not let it die out like minority languages. We need to let it flow!

Let’s Flow Together for Water around The World (Yoruba)
The language I have used for this is from my homeland of Nigeria. In parts of Nigeria, there is not enough water and the sewage system can pollute what water may be available. Sometimes, water just comes from muddy ponds. You can imagine how scarce clean water can be for some people and how ill they become because of polluted water. Water is valuable to drink, but also to cook, clean, bathe, wash clothes, clean teeth. Dirty water defeats the purpose! So, I wanted to explain how our individual efforts can add up to collective efforts and that, together, we can care for people in other places by having a knock on effect in our individual and collective water use.

Essential Elements!
Communicate to Educate (Arabic)
From the hidden life of small organisms, and tiny cells, to the local and global community, water connects us all and flows through the very fabric of life. Whose responsibility is it to ensure we have enough water to sustain our world? It lies within the hearts and minds of EVERYONE! We need to communicate to educate, keeping sustainability high on the agenda for now and for future generations.
