Impact is imperative for Erasmus+ activities. But why is it called ERASMUS?
Não pode haver em mim nem maquilhagem nem dissimulação, e jamais se percebe em meu rosto as aparências de um sentimento que não esteja no meu coração... Erasmo de Roterdão

Suitcases, Skies and Goodbyes
Our Erasmus Adventure: From Takeoff to Touchdown
Suitcases packed, hearts racing, and eyes set on the skies — this is how our Erasmus journey began. In this short presentation, I’ll take you through the first and last days of our adventure: the excitement of departure, the discovery of new places, and finally, the bittersweet feeling of saying goodbye. These were more than just travel days — they were moments we’ll never forget..
Our Erasmus adventure started the moment we left home and only truly ended when we landed back, full of memories. In this presentation, I’ll guide you through our takeoff and return — the first and last days of our mobility. From early mornings and airports to the joy of discovering Belgium and the emotions of coming back, these travel days marked the beginning and the end of something unforgettable.
Where are we going?
On our first day, we all woke up very early, as we had to be at the airport in time to begin our journey. After boarding the plane to Belgium, and a two-hour flight, we finally arrived at our destination. Upon landing at Charleroi Airport, we took a bus to the nearest train station, from where we continued our trip to Leuven.

Final Day Feels and Tower Thrills
And then, on the last day of this incredible adventure, we got to sleep a little longer, as we had already packed our bags the night before. After leaving our accommodation, we headed to the Leuven Library and Tower. While climbing the tower, we discovered more about its history and how it was affected during World War II.The climb was long and tiring, but it was all worth it — at the top, we were rewarded with a breathtaking view of the entire city of Leuven! Only then did we truly realise how beautiful the city is, something we hadn’t fully grasped while walking through its streets.

Don’t Bin It – Spin It!
Who said recycling was boring? During this hands-on workshop, we rolled up our sleeves and gave old materials a brand-new purpose. From plastic bottles to plastic waste and more, we learned how to turn “trash” into creative, useful, or just plain fun items! It wasn’t just about sorting — it was about thinking green, working as a team, and discovering that sustainability can actually be... cool! Who knew saving the planet involved a lot of laughter?
It’s only one plastic bottle,” said 8 billion people.

In the morning
In the afternoon
In the morning, we visited a school called HDC (Heilige-Drievuldigheidscollege) where we had an English class and met the Belgian students through a "Speed Dating".
In the afternoon, we arrived at a workshop on recycling, the Hightechlab Maak leerplek, where we learned important things about the environment and the various types of plastic. We were also offered a small blue plastic with a hexagonal shape made on a 3D printer.

Heverlee, Here We Go!
It was more than just a visit – it was an inspiring European experience that showed how education connects us across borders.
Back
As part of our Erasmus+ mobility in Leuven, we visited the Heilig Hartinstituut, a vibrant secondary school in Heverlee. What did we find?- A glimpse into the Belgian school system
- Friendly exchanges with local students
- Cultural insights and new perspectives on learning
- Ideas to bring back home!
It was more than just a visit – it was an inspiring European experience that showed how education connects us across borders.

The Place
One of the most exciting moments of our Erasmus+ week was a 3D printing workshop at Maakleerplek – a unique space in Leuven where companies, schools, artists and residents come together to learn, create and innovate.

Design It, Print It, Love It!
We thought, “Why not create a chocolate bar keyring?” And so began our deliciously creative project—our very own “chocolate key”! After designing, we saved the files for printing and each of us chose a colour. We were told that our keyrings would be printed and delivered the next day – and they were!
In the afternoon, we arrived at the building and were guided by our instructor to the top floor. After climbing a long staircase, we reached the computer room, our workstation for the day.We sat in pairs, switched on the computers and opened the Tinkercad website – a digital platform for 3D design. Our instructor gave us a quick tutorial, and soon we were ready to start designing our very own keyrings! Teacher Sofia and I began brainstorming ideas, and since we were in a country famous for its chocolate…
We left the workshop with a fun and original souvenir, and another special memory from this amazing Erasmus+ experience.

Campus Redingenhof
Redingenhof Leuven School is a really dynamic and practical place — not just for students, but also for their families. It has everything from pre-school to primary and secondary education, plus lots of different vocational courses. It’s a great school, especially for those who start there from a young age. One cool thing about this school is that, if you’re in a vocational course, you can actually start working at the age of 16 and even earn a salary! It’s not a big salary, of course, but it’s a great opportunity for teenagers to gain experience. What’s also impressive is that each course has top working conditions — it really feels like you’re already at a real job.

From Nuns to Notebooks: A Campus Full of Stories
The Great Beguinage of Leuven is a beautiful and historic area that has been really well preserved and fully restored. It’s in the southern part of the city centre and looks like a small village, with about a dozen streets, nearly 100 houses and around 300 apartments — it’s actually one of the biggest beguinages left in the whole region. The Dyle River runs right through the Beguinage and splits into two channels, which gives it a kind of island feel. There are three bridges that connect the different parts. It’s super picturesque!Today, the entire Beguinage belongs to the University of Leuven and it’s mostly used to house academics and staff. It’s peaceful, charming, and full of history!

PODCAST
Watch
During our Erasmus+ mobility, one of the most exciting and creative moments was recording a podcast at Campus Corso. We worked in small groups of 3 students and each team prepared a short episode where we talked about our experience in Belgium. We discussed what we learned, what surprised us, and what we’ll never forget – from cultural differences and school life to food, friendships and funny moments. The podcast allowed us to practise our English, express our opinions and reflect on everything we lived during the week. It was also a great opportunity to work on our communication and teamwork skills… and, of course, to have fun with the microphone!

Watch
After a day full of creativity at Campus Corso, where we recorded our podcast episodes, it was time to let our voices shine in a different way — karaoke night! Right after dinner, we gathered for a fun and relaxed evening where microphones turned into magic wands. From pop hits to timeless classics, everyone (except Tomás!) sang their hearts out, laughed and created unforgettable memories. It was the perfect ending to a day of self-expression, connection, and joy — in true Erasmus+ spirit!

Beguinage
The Great Beguinage of Leuven (Dutch: Groot Begijnhof van Leuven) is a historic district that is well preserved and completely restored. It is located in the southern part of the centre of Leuven, and consists of a dozen streets, with about 300 apartments in almost 100 houses, making it one of the largest remaining beguinages in the Netherlands. The Dyle River divides into two channels within the beguinage, forming an island-like network of three bridges connecting its parts. The complete beguinage is owned by the University of Leuven and used as a campus, especially to house academics.

Tuesday: Group Work, Gothic Views and Goal Chants!
This was a day full of action and contrast! We started in a Pop-Up Classroom where we were introduced to several digital tools. We worked together in mixed groups and even created a short video — lots of creativity and collaboration!Later, we travelled to the beautiful city of Bruges. The views were absolutely stunning, with charming streets and magical canals. While exploring, we also came across a group of very enthusiastic football fans, who were supporting their team with chants and energy — an unexpected and fun cultural surprise! From digital teamwork to medieval beauty (and football chants!), this had it all!
Manhã digital: Criar, colaborar, comunicar
Este foi um dia cheio de ação e contrastes! No pop-up classroom criámos um pequeno vídeo colaborativo!
