Photos of the visit

Our week in treviglio

Infographics on local housing issues
During our mobility to Treviglio, Italy, we expiored several important topics related to housing and /urban development. This presentation summarizes our work and the outcomes of this enriching Erasmus experience.
Final presentations
Gentrification interviews
Bicocca has changed a lot, with more students, services, and new buildings. The area feels safer and more active, but rents have gone up a lot. This makes it harder for some people, like students, to afford living there. Overall, it's becoming nicer but also more expensive.

DAYS in BARCELONA

Bike tour in poblenou

PREVIOUS WORK

Before going to Belgium and Italy we made an inphographic in which we showed how housing in Barcelona is.

We did a bike tour around Poblenou and saw all the major changes during the stops. We made tasks to put the changes in the center.

What made this project special?

This project has been so special because it has leaded us to meet plenty of new people from different countries and with different cultures, which wouldn't have been possible without the Erasmus+.

What did we do?

Through the project theme, we had the chance to look at our respective cities and to get to know their particular housing problems and consequences. The project also gave us the opportunity to visit the cities, with their most important sites and monuments Ph.: Chiara Iavarone and Elisa Pilagatti

What did we learn?

During our weeks spent at our respective cities, we learnt how important it is to have an affording roof over our heads, without having to worry about not being able to pay for it. We also learnt about the daily life of families from different cultures and we felt more responsible because we had to take care of everybody, not just of ourselves.

What is this project about?

This project focuses on the issue of gentrification and the social and economic transformations it brings to some European cities, specifically in Barcelona (Spain), Treviglio (Italy) and Torhout (Belgium). It explores the challenges faced by local communities as a result of these urban changes.

Why is this project important?

This Eramus project is important because it shows us the importance of the reality of housing issues, highlighting the consequences of gentrification in different European countries and cities. Ph.: Yana Bostoen
