During the 1948 War of Independence, Hadassah Mt. Scopus was isolated by the Jordanian forces. The hospital, located on Mount Scopus just outside the Old City of Jerusalem, became inaccessible after the Jordanian Army took control of the area. As a result of this military blockade, the hospital and its medical staff were cut off from the rest of Jerusalem for a significant period during the war. The situation worsened due to the difficulty in supplying the hospital with medical supplies and personnel. In 1967, following the Six-Day War, Israel regained control of East Jerusalem, including the Mount Scopus area. The hospital was eventually able to resume its operations and was rededicated and expanded in 1975 with the efforts of the women of Hadassah, who renovated the hospital that had been damaged and neglected during those difficult years.

During the 1948 War of Independence, Hadassah Mt. Scopus was isolated by the Jordanian forces. The hospital, located on Mount Scopus just outside the Old City of Jerusalem, became inaccessible after the Jordanian Army took control of the area. As a result of this military blockade, the hospital and its medical staff were cut off from the rest of Jerusalem for a significant period during the war. The situation worsened due to the difficulty in supplying the hospital with medical supplies and personnel. In 1967, following the Six-Day War, Israel regained control of East Jerusalem, including the Mount Scopus area. The hospital was eventually able to resume its operations and was rededicated and expanded in 1975 with the efforts of the women of Hadassah, who renovated the hospital that had been damaged and neglected during those difficult years.
