Taipei 101 is a skyscraper located in Taiwan. It is 508m tall, making it the 11th tallest skyscraper in the world. It was completed in 2004. It contains apartments, offices, restaurants and even a mall*.

At the top of Taipei 101 is a long antenna. It is used for broadcasting purposes.

Taipei 101 has an observatory as well as an outside observation deck. To visit the outside deck you must wear a harness to walk safely around the building.

At the heart of Taipei 101's earthquake resistance is a massive 660-ton golden steel sphere suspended within the tower. This pendulum-like device is designed to counteract the building's swaying during seismic activity, absorbing kinetic energy and reducing movement by up to 40%.

Taipei 101 has many setbacks. Their purpose is not only aesthetics: they also help the building to resist to strong forces such as wind but also earthquakes!

Taipei 101 contains a mall with marble walls. It mostly contains luxury boutiques, including the largest number of jewelry and watch stores in Taiwan.

Taipei 101's lobby is made of grey marble.
