assignment 3.1

question 1

mexican gray wolf

The Mexican wolf is an endangered species and the rarest subspecies of gray wolf in North America. Once common throughout portions of the southwestern United States, it was almost eliminated from the wild in 1970. These wolves were targeted for extermination over fears they would prey on livestock. Throughout the 20th century, wolves were shot, trapped, and poisoned by farmers and the government. There are currently only about 275 in the wild now. 1. Humans have changed the DNA of many organisms. How could altering the DNA of an endangered species like the Mexican Wolf be a possible solution for helping them recover? 2. What factors should we consider before altering the DNA of the Mexican Wolf?
