The EU operation in the Mediterranean (EUNAVFOR MED IRINI)

The operation's core task of the operation is monitoring of the implementation of the UN arms embargo through the use of aerial, satellite and maritime assets.

The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL)

The mission is tasked with sustaining the security situation in southern Lebanon and monitoring the cessation of hostilities in the region. Resolution No. 2790 extended the mission’s mandate for the final time until 31 December 2026.
NATO Mission Iraq (NMI)

The mission provides expertise in security/defence sector reform, institution building and helping to strengthen Iraqi security forces and Iraqi military education institutions at the same time providing additional support to Iraq's efforts to stabilize the country and fight terrorism. As of 30 March 2026, the mission personnel has been relocated to the Allied Joint Force Command Naples (JFCNP) for an indefinite period.

The coalition is committed to: strengthening international security; stabilising liberated areas in Syria and Iraq; countering Daesh's propaganda; repatriation and rehabilitation of former foreign terrorist fighters and their family members.

In 2025, Latvia intends to provide training to 4000 Ukrainian military personnel.
The EU Mission in Armenia (EUMA)
The mission is tasked with facilitating reduction in the number of incidents in the conflict-affected border regions between Armenia and Azerbaijan and lowering the risk levels for people living there, thereby promoting the normalisation of relations between the two countries.

The EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia (EUMM Georgia)
The mission is the only international monitor for the Russia-Georgia Six Point Ceasefire Agreement. The mission facilitates reduction of tension between the parties to the conflict, promotes stabilisation and normalisation of the situation.

The EU Advisory Mission Ukraine (EUAM Ukraine)
The mission aims to support Ukraine in the field of civilian security sector reform, including justice and home affairs, as well as to facilitate investigation of war crimes and restoration of the rule of law in the liberated territories.

The operation’s mandate is to accompany vessels and protect them against attacks by Yemen’s Houthi militants, to reinforce maritime situational awareness and provide monitoring in the region.

Main tasks – patrolling, protecting their forces, maintaining combat capabilities, training, and rapid response tasks.
