FEMALE CLOTHING

The costume for women consists of a long skirt, usually red with black ribbons at the bottom, worn over a petticoat and bloomer, knee-length trousers, and white or openwork stockings. Over all this, a black apron -like apron is worn, the length of which can vary. On top, Galician women wear a white blouse or shirt, over which a vest and a black dengue (a small cape decorated with pearls and velvet, with long points that cross over the chest) are worn. Footwear includes wooden-soled clogs or low-heeled black shoes.

MALE CLOTHING

For men, the essential pieces of the costume are a generally white shirt, covered by a usually black vest. Underneath, they wear black breeches (the name given to trousers) and gaiters (a cloth that covers the legs from the knees to the feet, usually black and also covering the front of the shoe). Around the waist is a sash, which can be of various colors but is usually red, and they also usually wear black clogs or shoes.

CONCLUSION

I think the traditional Galician costume is very important in Galician culture. This is because the bagpipes and their music are what Galicia is known for. And the bagpipers wear this costume. The villager always wore the costume appropriate to his region, the one designed by his ancestors. It was common, in ancient times, to go out on the street and see people dressed like this. That's why it's characteristic of Galatia.
