What is crossfit?

Let's make a quick recap on the main features of this sport !

CrossFit is a high-intensity fitness training program that blends elements of weightlifting, gymnastics, and endurance. It was founded in the early 2000s by Greg Glassman, in California, who wanted to create a workout method that builds strength, speed, and overall fitness in a functional way. The idea was to prepare individuals for any physical challenge by focusing on movements that mimic everyday activities like lifting, running, jumping, and pushing.A typical CrossFit session takes place in a "box" (the term for a CrossFit gym) and follows a structured format:- Warm-up: Prepares the body with mobility drills and light exercises.- Strength/Skill Work: Focuses on improving a specific movement, such as a lift or a gymnastic skill.- WOD (Workout of the Day): The main workout, often involving a mix of cardio, weightlifting, and bodyweight exercises, performed at high intensity.

Write a great headline

When carrying out a presentation, two objectives must be pursued: conveying information and avoiding yawns. To achieve this, it can be good practice to create an outline and use words and concepts that aid in the assimilation of the content.

If you want to provide additional information or develop the content in more detail, you can do it through your oral presentation. We recommend that you train your voice and rehearse: the best improvisation is always the most prepared one!

Rx (Prescribed)- This is the most advanced level, where athletes perform the WODs exactly as prescribed, with the standard loads and movements defined by the organisation. Scaled- A version adapted for athletes who cannot yet perform certain movements or use the prescribed loads. Foundations- An even more accessible level for beginners, with exercise options modified to allow everyone to take part, whatever their level of fitness.

The great thing about the Open is that there are 3 levels, so it's accessible to everyone!
Do I need any special equipment?

The answer is no, if you do the competitions in your crossfit box, because you already have all the equipment (bars, weights, etc.).The only equipment I've bought that's more personal are potholders to put on your hands. When you're doing gymnastics, this limits injuries to your fingers and gives you a better performance because you don't strain your hands as much.

One of the most interesting statistics of CrossFit shows that about 60% of the 10 million members worldwide are women!
