Second Grade Science Interactive Lesson By Abigail Money

Let's explore the parts of a plant!

Purpose:

Learning Goal:

Plants are all around us! They help us breathe, give us food, and make the world beautiful. Today, you will learn about the different parts of a plant and what each part does to help it grow.

By the end of this activity, you will be able to name the parts of a plant and explain what each part does. Learning Standards: NGSS 2-LS2-1 NGSS 2-LS2-2

Directions:

  1. On the first slide, click on each plant part name to learn about its job and see a picture.
  2. Once you have learned the parts of the plant and their jobs, it's time to put your skills to the test! Go to the last slide.
  3. On the last slide, drag each plant part name from the word bank and drop it where it belongs on the plant. If you get it right there's a surprise! There are 5 plant parts that are all used once in their own blank.
