During his life in retirement, from 1959 up to his death in 1973. Tolkien received steadily increasing public attention and literary fame. In 1961, he was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature.

Tolkien's fantasy books on Middle-earth, especially The Lord of the Rings and The Silmarillion, drew on a wide array of influences, including his philological interests.

John Ronald Reuel Tolkien (3 January 1892 – 2 September 1973) was an English writer and philologist. He was the author of The Lord of the Rings.

The Lord of the Rings is a trilogy that tells the story of the Fellowship of the Ring. The main theme of the work is the fight of good versus evil and sacrifices for the greater good. The main characters are inspired by a lot of references from Norse mythology and ancient Anglo-Germanic epics. The work is divided into three parts and tells the fights for possession of the powerful One Ring.

There are many images that show how Peter Jackson made use of perspective to create te dwarfs, hobbits and other creatures of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.In the behind-the-scenes report we see how two people sitting just a couple of meters away can appear of comletely different heights using chairs of various sizes and varying the zoom of the camera. Incredible!
