Climate action
Sustainable Development Goal 13 urges to take action to combat climate change and its impacts*. Climate change is now affecting every country on every continent. It is disrupting national economies and affecting lives, costing people, communities and countries dearly today and even more tomorrow. People are experiencing the significant impacts of climate change, which include changing weather patterns, rising sea levels, and more extreme weather events. Greenhouse gas emissions from human activities are driving climate change and are continuing to rise. They are now at their highest levels in history.
Quality Education
Basic education covers the earliest stages in a child’s educational pathway, ranging from early childhood education and care to primary and secondary education. An inclusive and quality education for all, which eliminates school segregation, is an essential element of sustainable development. In addition, SDG 4 intends to ensure that all boys and girls complete free, equitable and quality primary and secondary education leading to relevant and effective learning outcomes. Furthermore, SDG 4 focuses on ensuring that all youths have the literacy, numeracy and relevant skills needed for employment, decent jobs and entrepreneurship.
