1. At the Café Emma: Hey, I saw you at the café yesterday! What were you doing there? Jake: Oh, I was waiting for my friend. We had planned to meet at 3, but he was late. Emma: Oh no! So, what did you do while you were waiting? Jake: I read a book and drank some coffee. It wasn’t too bad.
2. At School Lisa: You looked really tired this morning. What happened? Tom: I was studying late last night because we had that big test today. Lisa: Yeah, me too! I reviewed my notes until midnight. Tom: Same here! But then I fell asleep while I was reading.
3. At the Park Sophia: I called you yesterday, but you didn’t answer. Where were you? Liam: Oh, sorry! I was jogging in the park when you called. Sophia: No worries! Did you run for a long time? Liam: Not really. I ran for about 30 minutes, then I sat on a bench and relaxed.
