I realize that...

There are different types of classroom writing performance. For beginner learners, imitative or mechanical writing is more common. Intensive or controlled writing plays a crucial role in reinforcing grammatical accuracy and structured language use, although it may limit creativity. In contrast, guided writing reduces the teacher's control while still providing structured prompts to support students' writing development.

I have realized that exposure to various genres and authentic materials helps us understand how writing functions in real contexts. Additionally, when students write for real audiences and purposes, they perceive writing as a practical skill rather than just a classroom exercise. Specifically, the technique of designing prewriting, drafting, and revising stages ensures that students approach writing as a process rather than a one-time task.

From my perspective...

I can apply the process writing approach not only as a student but also as a future teacher. By using its five phases: prewriting, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing. I can encourage students to brainstorm ideas freely during prewriting and prioritize content over correctness in their first draft. Providing constructive feedback and facilitating peer reviews will help students refine their writing during the revision phase. Additionally, I can support them in editing by offering feedback before they finalize their work. This structured approach reinforces writing as a process, allowing students to develop their skills progressively

Evaluation process

Having clear evaluation criteria is essential not only for guiding students during the writing process but also for ensuring that they understand what is expected of them. When students are aware of the specific areas being assessed—whether it's content, structure, syntax, or creativity—they can focus their efforts more effectively. This transparency helps students feel more confident in their writing and allows them to learn from their mistakes. Without clear criteria, students may feel disconnected from the feedback they receive, which can affect their motivation and progress.

Why is it important develop writing skills?

Writing allows students to express their thoughts clearly and effectively. Developing strong writing skills enables them to articulate ideas, share opinions, and engage in meaningful discussions. Aditionally, Writing requires students to analyze information, organize their thoughts, and present arguments logically. This process enhances their ability to think critically and solve problems.

What is the role of the teacher?

The teacher's role in assessing writing includes motivating students by fostering a supportive environment that encourages effort and emphasizes the value of writing activities. As a resource provider, the teacher offers guidance, language support, and constructive advice throughout the writing process. Additionally, as a feedback provider, the teacher responds positively to students' work, helping them refine their drafts to enhance clarity and effectiveness.
