Kahootopia: Figurative Language

Explanation

Students join the kahoot game by typing in the code on the board. They will look at my board for questions and answers and select the color of the correct answer on their Chromebook. This will help me to gauge their understanding of the different types of figurative language after teaching the lesson. Students earn points as they get answers correct and they see the leaderboard.

Objective

Students will be able to identify, define, and analyze various types of figurative language. This kahoot will help me gain an understanding of what students are doing well with and areas that they made still be struggling with that need to be retaught. I see where each student falls on the leaderboard. I can also see how many questions were missed and precisely what questions.

Incentives

Kahootopia fosters a sense of progression through levels, which grow as the class plays more kahoots. To progress, the class needs to complete 2 kahoots for levels 1 and 2, then 3 kahoots to all other Island levels. As the island reaches higher levels, it evolves, showcasing the growth and achievments! Students in 1st, 2nd, an 3rd place also recieve a piece of candy.

Kahootopia

By converting the classroom into an interactive, gamified island where students cooperate, win rewards, and level up as a class, Kahootopia aims to promote collaborative learning and celebrate group accomplishments. Because it is competitive, students may test their knowledge in a more interesting and exciting method with rapid feedback, which keeps them motivated and eager to learn.
