How to use Genially

What is Genially?

~ Genially is an online platform that allows users to create interactive and visually engaging content, such as presentations, infographics, gamified experiences, and digital learning materials. It’s popular among educators, marketers, and businesses for its ease of use and ability to add animations, interactive elements, and multimedia to designs without needing advanced technical skills.

Create a New Project Click "Create Genially" on the dashboard. Choose the type of content you want to create: ~ Presentation 📊 ~ Infographic 📈 ~ Interactive Image 🖼️ ~ Gamification 🎮 Others (Guides, Quizzes, etc.)

Customize Your Design Choose a Template 🖌️ or start from scratch. Use the Toolbar to add: Text ✍️ Images/GIFs 🖼️ Videos 🎥 (YouTube, Vimeo, or upload your own) Icons & Illustrations 🔍 Audio & Background Music 🎵

Starting with a Blank Page

~ To use a blank template and start from scratch, click on the box labeled with your username initials in the upper left corner of the “For Me” page. ~ Under your username on the left side of the page, click on “Create genially” and in the drop-down menu select “Blank creation” and edit the blank template accordingly to the directions in step 3.

~ You can utilize the panel on the left side of the screen, Featuring text, Resources, Interactive elements, Widgets, & Inserts. ~ To add or delete a page, zoom in or out, use the toolbar below the current page you’re working on.

Adding Media

~ YOUTUBE Copy the YouTube Video Link Go to YouTube and find the video you want to add. Click "Share" and copy the URL. Open Your Genially Project Log into Genially and open your presentation or project. Insert the Video Click on "Insert" (Media icon 📎) in the top toolbar. Select "Video" from the options. Paste the YouTube link into the box. Adjust the Video Resize and move the video wherever you want it in your design.

~ Adding Other Media (Images, GIFs, Audio, etc.): Click "Insert" > "Image" to upload an image or use stock images. Click "Insert" > "GIFs" to add animated images from Giphy. Click "Insert" > "Audio" to upload or embed a music file.

Collaborators

~ If you would like to work on a template with other people, click on the black and white circle ‘+’ icon labeled “collaborators” that overlaps your account icon in the toolbar on the top right side of the screen. Enter your partner’s email address (If they don’t have an account), or search for a member or team you’ve previously added to Genially. To create or join a team, go to the Genially homepage and click on the ‘+’ symbol in the upper left side panel below the box labeled with your username initials.

Interactivity & Animations

~ Click on "Interactivity" to add: Tooltips (Pop-ups with extra info) Links to other pages/websites Embedded Content (Google Maps, PDFs, etc.) Click "Animation" to make elements appear, fade, or move.

How to save your project

Automatic Saving Genially automatically saves changes as you edit, so you don’t have to click a "Save" button. 2. Download Your Genially If you want to save a copy to your device: Go to "Share" or "Download" (available in premium plans). Choose a format: PDF (static version) JPEG/PNG (images) HTML5 (interactive, but requires premium) 3. Duplicate for Backup Click on the three-dot menu (•••) on your Genially dashboard. Select "Duplicate" to create a backup copy in case you want to make edits without affecting the original. 4. Share and Store Online Use the "Share" option to generate a link or embed code, ensuring you can access it from any device.
