Although  AI can be a threat to journalism, If used the right way, It can also  be a useful tool. AI can be helpful with things like transcribing audio, organizing and identifying trends in data, language translation or fact checking. Ai won't replace the human connection side of journalism, but It can be helpful with the less enjoyable data driven tasks. 

A study done by the Thompson Reuters Foundation found that about  80% of the journalists they spoke to  use  AI for a wide variety of tasks.

ChatGPT was created by OpenAI, an AI research company. It started as a nonprofit company in 2015. The CEO is Sam Altman, who also co-founded the company. Chat GTP was first realesed in 2022 as a free reaserch preview. It is currently still available for free but there is also a premiume version.
