COLAM MASTER CHEF! CRAZY DORITOS

4TH grade

CHEFS

Kids will become a chef for a day! They can wear a chef hat! They have to organize their team to see what is bringing each member. The team is going to bring just the ingredients, EVERYBODY is going to cook the recipe in class! With this activity kids will improve team work, follow instructions, order, habits, etc. During their presentation and meal preparation, kids will mention ingredients, procedure and how nutritious is this meal to our body. Every kid has to bring a plate or bowl from home (do not bring any disposable plate) eco-friendly , spoon and fork to taste everything at the end! Project will be presented on Thursday, March 27th. Is an internal activity.

CREAMY FRUIT SALAD

STEP 1: Strain the juice of the fruit cocktail STEP 2: Place fruit in a large bowl and add the nestle cream and sweetened condensed milk and mix STEP 3: Add the cocount and mix NOW SERVE AND ENJOY!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 Condensed milk, sweetened
  • 1 Nestle cream (media crema)
  • 1 Fruit cocktail can
  • grated coconut
  • apples in pieces
Kitchen tools:
  • big bowl to mix all the ingredients
  • big spoon to serve

APPLE RING DONUTS

STEP 1: To make these apple donuts, first, you need to wash and core an apple. STEP 2: Next, get out all your spreadable toppings. Spread the yogurt, peanut butter, and Nutella on the apples. STEP 3: Next, sprinkle on toppings and have fun! NOW SERVE AND ENJOY!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 apples in donut slices
  • Peanut butter
  • Yogurt (plain or any flavor)
  • Nutella
  • Sprinkles (fun for kids!)
  • Cereal (any kind)
  • Ground nuts
  • Coconut flakes
  • Mini chocolate chips
Kitchen tools:
  • big plate or cutting board
  • spread knife

YOGURT PARFAIT

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 big yogurt (any flavor or plain)
  • fruits( banana, strawberries, blueberries)
  • Any kind of cereal
  • granola
  • coconut
Kitchen tools:
  • 24 small plastic cups to serve individually
  • big spoon to serve

STEP 1: ADD A LAYER OF YOGURT STEP 2: ADD A LAYER OF CEREAL STEP 3: ADD A LAYER OF FRUIT REPEAT! NOW SERVE AND ENJOY!

Prep Time:15 minutesServings: 2 to 4 (you will need double quantities to share with the class)

CLUB SANDWICH

1. Toast bread in toaster until golden-brown. Let cool completely before building sandwiches. 2. Take one slice of bread and slather with mayo/mixture. (as much or little as you like). 3. Top that slice of bread with 3 pieces of turkey. Top turkey with lettuce and 2 slices of American cheese. Take one more piece of bread and top it over. 4. Slather that piece of bread with a little more mayo/ mustard. Add 3 pieces of ham, 1 slice of cheddar cheese, 2 slices of tomato and lettuce. Top with one more piece of bread. Slightly press the top of the sandwich down, to help everything stay together. Repeat same process with remaining ingredients and 3 pieces of bread. You will have 2 large sandwiches total. Cut each sandwich into 4 triangles and serve!

  • 12 slices of bread
  • 16 turkey or ham thinly sliced
  • 10 slices of American cheese
  • 10 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 10 slices of tomato
  • lettuce
  • mayo
Kitchen tools:
  • toaster (if is possible)
  • knife to spread
  • plate
  • toothpicks
