La figure complexe de Rey est un dessin géométrique composé de plusieurs formes interconnectées, comme des rectangles, des triangles et des lignes. Ce qui le rend particulier, c’est qu’il est à la fois simple et difficile à reproduire. Le test repose sur deux tâches principales :

• Le test du bonhomme consiste à demander à un enfant de dessiner une personne. Ce dessin est ensuite analysé pour évaluer différents aspects : Ce test est principalement utilisé chez les enfants de 3 à 10 ans pour évaluer leur développement cognitif et émotionnel à travers leur représentation du corps humain. On considère des critères comme la proportion des membres, les détails du visage, la posture ou même la présence d'éléments inhabituels.

La copie : le participant reproduit la figure en la regardant. La reproduction de mémoire : quelques minutes plus tard, il doit la redessiner sans modèle. Ces étapes permettent d'évaluer plusieurs dimensions cognitives : La perception visuo-spatiale / La planification et l’organisation / La mémoire à court et à long terme.
