M8kerverse Summer Camp

Powered by edm8ker – Bringing Hands-On STEM to Life

A future-focused summer experience designed by edm8ker, where kids tinker, create, and innovate through hands-on learning and real-world problem-solving.

A Letter to Parents

Dear Parents, We know how much you care about your child’s future. Every decision you make, every opportunity you seek—it’s all about giving them the best chance to grow, learn, and thrive. At edm8ker, we believe that learning should be more than just memorization; it should be about discovery, innovation, and hands-on exploration. That’s why we created M8kerverse Summer Camp—a place where young minds can tinker, build, code, and create while developing the essential skills they’ll need for the future. Over two weeks, your child will dive into STEM, creativity, and real-world problem-solving, culminating in a Hackathon where they’ll bring their ideas to life. We’re honored to be a part of your child’s learning journey, and we can’t wait to see them explore, innovate, and thrive. Warm regards, Terence Tan, Ed.M. GM, North America

Day 6: Robotics and 3D Pen Creations

How can we build machines that interact with the world around them?

Campers dive into robotics and 3D design as they create bots that draw, move, and express personality. With a 3D pen in hand, they shape their ideas into playful prototypes.

Today, students will...

  • Build a Scribble Bot that draws on its own.
  • Use a 3D pen to design a robotic character.
  • Tackle the Talking Bot Challenge and bring their robot to life with sound or motion.
Day 9: Internet of Things with the ESP32

How can smart devices solve real-world problems?

From trash bins that talk to Bluetooth-controlled cars, campers take on the Internet of Things! They build tech projects that respond to the environment—and their ideas.

Today, students will...

  • Design a high-tech trash bin that senses and sorts.
  • Build and test a Bluetooth-controlled car.
  • Learn how sensors and connectivity bring devices to life.
Day 10 : Hackathon Challenge Day

How can we use everything we’ve learned to help our community?

It’s the big day! Campers work in teams to solve a real-world problem using tech and maker skills they’ve gained all week. Then, they pitch their prototypes to the group.

Today, students will...

  • Identify a challenge in their community.
  • Build a working prototype using coding, circuits, or robotics.
  • Present their idea and explain how it makes a difference.
Day 1: Building Camp Community

How can we express who we are as a group through design?

Campers kick off the week by getting to know each other and co-creating their group identity. Through fun design activities, they build a sense of belonging and take home personalized items that showcase their creativity.

Today, students will...

  • Design a custom graphic that represents themselves, and use it to personalize a mug.
  • Create a camp logo featuring all campers' graphics, and print it on a camp tote.
  • Explore block coding and art with Turtle Code.
Day 5: STEAM Day

How can we combine art, tech, and design in creative ways?

It’s full STEAM ahead! Campers bring art and electronics together in imaginative ways—from glowing circuits to wearable creations.

Today, students will...

  • Build a paper circuit and write a letter of affirmation that lights up.
  • Tinker with squishy dough to make playful, functional circuits.
  • Design their own piece of wearable tech using LED threads and imagination.
Day 3: Tech for Sustainability—Greentech

How can technology help build a greener world?

From solar power to wind energy, campers explore how eco-friendly tech works—and build their own working models. It’s a hands-on intro to sustainable engineering!

Today, students will...

  • Create a solar-powered character that moves with sunlight.
  • Build a wind-powered lifter and explore energy transfer.
  • Design and race a mini electric car.
Day 2: Sustainable Craftmaking

How can we turn everyday waste into something wonderful?

Today, campers learn the value of sustainability by upcycling old materials into creative keepsakes. Through stitching, weaving, and crafting, they discover how to care for the planet while making cool stuff.

Today, students will...

  • Sew a plushie pal using an old sock.
  • Turn a worn-out T-shirt into a woven bracelet or mini mat.
  • Explore nature-based crafts with coconuts!
Day 7: Interactive Inventions with the Makey Makey

How can everyday objects become part of an invention?

By blending coding and creativity, campers turn bananas into piano keys and Play-Doh into game controllers! It’s all about inventing with the Makey Makey kit.

Today, students will...

  • Make a working game controller with Play-Doh.
  • Remix the classic ‘Operation’ game using real-world objects.
  • Learn about circuits, conductivity, and interactive design.
Day 8: Creative Companions with the micro:bit

How can we design tech that cares?

Campers build tiny tech companions using the micro:bit—a pocket-sized computer. From emotional support buddies to moving inchworms, they learn coding with empathy and imagination.

Today, students will...

  • Code a digital pet or “caring companion” that reacts with lights and sounds.
  • Program an inchworm to wiggle using sensors and loops.
  • Explore how tech can be both smart and kind.
Day 4: Culture Day

How do we celebrate our roots through making?

Campers explore cultural heritage through traditional games and crafts, while discussing how culture can thrive alongside technology.

Today, students will...

  • Paint a traditional lantern using meaningful symbols
  • Engineer a spinning top and challenge friends to a Turbo Top battle.
  • Try their hand (or foot!) at a DIY Chapteh—Singapore’s beloved traditional game.
