WHAT IS A CONDITIONAL?
A conditional is a sentence that expresses the probability for something to happen. For that, it uses two sentences: the condition (for the situation to happen) and the result (the situation). Depending on the degree of probability, we will use a verb tense or another.

If he wasn't allergic to dairy, he'd eat lots of cheese.
If I saw a ghost, I wouldn't be scared.

UNLESS: a menos que

It means 'if not' and it's a substitute for 'if'.
THIRD CONDITIONAL
- If I had known you were coming, I would have baked a cake.
- I would have been happy if you had called me for my birthday.
