What is cyberbulling?
Cyberbulling is a form of bullying that takes place online through digital platforms such as social media,messagging apps and gaming forums. It includes behaviors such as harassment,threats,spreading rumors,sharing private information and posting humiliation content. The effects of cyberbulling can be severe,leading to anxiety,depression,low self-harm or suicide. Victims may feel isolated, as the internet makes it difficult to escape the abuse.

In 2012 she broke up with her boyfriend and became the target of cyberbulling. One night, during a party,she was intossicated and a group of boys recorded a video of her in a vulnerable state. The video was then shared online, spreading rapidly and leading to a wave of cruel comments and mockery on social media.
Carolina Picchio was an italian teenager whose tragic story became a symbol of the devasting effects of cyberbulling. Born in 1997 in Novara,Italy,Carolina was a bright and cheerful girl with a passion for music and sports. However,her life took a heartbreaking turn due to online harassment.

The relentless bullying deeply affected Carolina's mental state. On the night of January 5,2013, unable to cope with the humiliation and pain, she took her own life by jumping from the windows of her home. She was only 14 years old. Before She died, Carolina wrote a letter to those who bullied her. She wrote: "Are you Happy now?? Have you had fun hurting me? You have done everything to ruin my life and you have succeeded. I hope that, at least now, you will understand the damage you have done" Carolina's message played a key role in raising awareness and led to legale reforms in Italy including Carolina's Law to combat online harassment.
