He became famous when he became first actor to play James Bond .He played this role 7 times : - Dr No -From Russia with love (Bons baisers de Russie) -Goldfinger -Thunderball (Opération tonnerre) -Never say never again (Jamais plus jamais ) -You only live twice (on ne vit que deux fois ) -Diamonds are forever (Les diamants sont éternels) Sean Connery retired from actor in 2006.

In 1946, at the age of 16 , he joined the Royal Navy. He trained at the naval artillerie school in Portsmouth. He left the Navy after 3 years for medical reasons .

He won many awards including the Oscar for best supporting actor in "les incorruptibles" in 1988.
