Randomised controlled trial on the effect of exercise game on quality of life
GRANGERET Julie and AKPATI Kodjo

By 2022, 160 million children will be obese (WHO, 2024)

Childhood obesity is a growing problem worldwide

In France, 4% of children and adolescents aged 6-17 are obese (HAS, 2024).

An increase in BMI leads to a reduction in quality of life, which is reduced by weight, health problems and discrimination (Swallen and al., 2005).

Obesity has a negative impact on their quality of life

Physical activity is recognised as a way of improving quality of life.

Reduction in BMI and increase in quality of life, (José Aguilar-Cordero and al, 2021)

What is obesity?

Abdillahi, 2020

Cause :

WHO, 2024

  • Diet (energy balance imbalance )
  • Lack of exercise
  • Family factors
  • Psychological factors

Kumar Ahirwar and Singh, 2023

Recommendation: 60 minutes of moderate to intense daily physical activity, (HAS,2011)

Can a physical activity programme improve the quality of life of obese children by improving their physical health and well-being?
