Welcome to the Ecology Escape Room!

start
Congratulations! You have been chosen to be part of an expedition and embark on a secret mission. Get ready – you have a plane to catch!
Oh no! The pilot lost control of the plane, and it crashed in the middle of the jungle. Now, you must find your way home and face the dangers of nature. Good luck!
Despite the pressure and stress, you notice that you're able to breathe better, deeper, "cleaner." But how is that possible?
Why are you able to breathe better in the conditions of the jungle?
In the jungle, there are many plants and trees that produce oxygen for breathing from carbon dioxide through the process of photosynthesis.
The clear skies of the jungle create a sense of calm and tranquility, releasing a hormone called dopamine, which induces a feeling of happiness throughout the body.
When the body recognizes that it is in a state of distress and survival, it sharpens all the senses and makes the body systems function more efficiently.
The air in the jungle is not ordinary air – the air mixture also contains potassium, which is produced by the tree tops, and it leads to stronger breathing.

What is the process of photosynthesis?
Well done! You were correct in the question!
The process of photosynthesis is a process in which food is produced in plants. One of the by-products of the process is the release of oxygen, which is essential for life on Earth.

Well done! Now you can breathe better, and your body is stronger, able to cope with additional challenges in nature.

One of the biggest challenges is dealing with other living organisms – animals and plants. The relationship between living organisms is called interrelationship.
What are interrelationships?
Interrelationships are relationships between all living creatures that depend solely on the existence of humans. Only animals form interrelationships with humans, and without them, the living space of humans would be better.
Interrelationships are the relationships between humans in difficult conditions, where each person helps the other as is human nature.
Interrelationships are relationships that exist between all living creatures, who depend on each other. All living beings maintain interrelationships, and without them, most living creatures would not be able to survive.
Interrelationships are relationships in which humans exploit other animals for their own benefit, such as using plants for food.

fun facts

What types of interrelationships exist?
Predation: The predator benefits, the prey loses.
Mutualism: Both sides benefit.
Commensalism: One benefits, but there is no loss.
Parasitism: The parasite benefits, the host loses.
Competition: Both sides lose.

Next

Gecko and butterfly

and now, it's time for a game!

Match the relationships to their types:

Press to answer the type of interrelationship.

The gecko feeds on the butterfly.

What is biomimicry?
Biomimicry is the imitation of humanity and the application of innovation principles created by humans in nature, with the goal of creating a better and more comfortable environment for animals.
Biomimicry is the borrowing of the structure of birds (in particular) to create innovative and expensive products, such as the train with a beak-like shape.
Biomimetics is the borrowing of solutions between humans and animals in nature—humans help animals through innovative technologies, while animals inspire the creation of products modeled after them to enhance functionality.
Biomimicry is "the imitation of life" – the assumption that most of the problems humans encounter already have solutions in nature, and the use of these solutions for human problems.

In our world, there is a vast variety of habitats, each with its own unique characteristics.
חוף הים
High mountains
Pole
Desert environment
Thin air, low temperatures.
An arid, dry area with no vegetation or wildlife.
Both humid and dry alike, with vegetation.
A very cold, wet, and humid area.
next
But for the rest of the organisms—aka other animals—they have biological adaptations that are perfectly suited to the habitat in which they live.

Thanks to today's technology, humans can live in almost any area with different characteristics.

"If they are moved from this specific habitat, they will not be able to survive!"
next
And now, a game!
Match the animal to its natural habitat.
Savanna – An area near the equator filled with trees.
Desert – A hot and dry area with out life.
hippopotamus
Lake – A body of water in warm regions.
Forest – A life-rich area with abundant oxygen.
