What is ENHANCE?

ENHANCE is an evaluation of the Complications of Excess Weight (CEW) services in the UK. We are looking to evaluate these services to understand what is or isn't working, and how these services can be improved based on the experiences and opinions of practitioners, children, young people and families accessing them.

wHY IS ENHANCE IMPORTANT?

The Complications of Excess Weight (CEW) services support children and young people who have NHS England wants to learn from these CEW services to understand how they can be improved in the future. That is where ENHANCE comes in.

We will look at information that tells us how the CEW services have helped young people. This includes how much it costs the NHS and patients, and whether this is good value.

Looking at the data

5.

We will combine all the information we have collected to understand what support works and does not work, for which families and why.

Recommendations for change

We will talk to young people and their families from different backgrounds about their experiences of attending the CEW services.

3.

Talking to young people

We will ask young people and their families who have been referred to the CEW services to complete a short survey about their experience.

2.

Surveying young people

We will talk to NHS staff who deliver the CEW services to ask about their views on what has worked well, what has not, and why.
