What is MBOT2?
MOTOR
- The mBot 2 motor is a DC encoder motor that powers the robot’s wheels, converting electrical energy into motion. The built-in encoder provides feedback to ensure precise speed and direction control. Also it is an actuator.
- However there are many types:
CYBERPI
- CyberPi is a single-board microcontroller used as the main controller in mBot 2. It features built-in sensors, a display, wireless communication, and multiple ports for expansion, enabling robotics, AI and IoT programming. Also, it is removable.
- Functions
1.Processing – CyberPi acts as the brain of the robot 2.Detection – It includes sensors for detecting motion, light and sound. 3.Communication – Uses Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for data transfer and remote control. 4.Control – Manages motors, LEDs, and external modules to perform tasks.5.Display – Shows text, numbers, and graphics on its full-color screen.
LIGHT SENSOR
- A light sensor is an electronic device that detects and measures light intensity.
- It converts light into an electrical signal, which can be used to determine brightness levels or detect objects.
-In this specific robot, light sensors help with tasks like line-following and ambient light detection.
ULTRASONIC SENSOR
Measures distances by calculating the time it takes for an ultrasonic wave to reach on an object and return.
PRINCIPAL PARTS
- The transmitter (which generates sound using piezoelectric crystals)
- the receiver (which encounters the sound after it has traveled to and from the target).
CONCLUSION
- Detect distance and avoide obstacles
Wiring and connectors
- Refer to the system of cables and ports that link the robot’s components, enabling power distribution and data communication.
- Proper wiring and connectors are crucial for the seamless operation of the mBot 2. They ensure that all components are correctly connected and communicate effectively.
PUSH BUTTON
- It is a simple switch mechanism that completes or interrupts an electrical circuit when pressed. It is used to trigger actions, such as turning a device on/off or sending input signals to a system.
- It is located in the Cyber Pi
PARTS:
COLOR SENSOR
Among sensors that detect light, those that detect the three primary colors of red, green, and blue are called color sensors.
Output Frequency: Signal indicating the detected color's intensity.GND: Ground reference for the sensor's circuit. LEDs: Light source for detecting color. VCC: Power supply for the sensor. Photodiode Selection Inputs: Choose which photodiode to use for color detection. Enable (Active Low): Activates the sensor when low voltage. Output Frequency Scale Selection Input: Adjusts the output frequency range.
WHEELS
- Wheels are an important part of the robot that allows it to move and also is made of 2 parts: the tires and the wheel hub.
- In addition it needs small screws to secure the wheels to the motor. For instance it includes 2 wheels at both of the robot's sides and has another one that improves the robot's stability.
The tires
- The tires allow the robot to adhere to the ground .
STRUCTURE
This gives the robot its shape and holds all its components.
BRAIN
- The brain of mBot 2 refers to its central processing unit (CPU) or main controller. It processes sensor inputs, executes programmed instructions, and controls the robot’s movements and functions.
