Not serving on the Advisory Board of a Guarantor or Servicer without advance written approval from the Sr. Operations Vice President

Not serving as a paid or unpaid consultant or employee

Not serving as a paid or unpaid member of a Board of Directors

Not accepting any fees, payment or other financial benefits from any Education Lender, Guarantor or Servicer

Avoid any conflicts of interest between your duties and responsibilities at UMA and your interactions with any other post-secondary institutions, Guarantor or Servicer, by:

Use English for all business communication within the workplace.

Use good judgment, based on high ethical principles that will guide me with respect to lines of acceptable conduct.

Keep student information confidential and comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

Conduct business in accordance with approved UMA scripts, processes and policies.

Conduct business adhering to applicable laws and regulations (USDE TITLE IV, Florida CIE, ABHES, etc.)

Pay the registration fee, or loan, give or borrow money to or from a prospective or enrolled student.

Remove student information electronically or use white out on a paper document.

Complete, sign or initial any document on behalf of a student/parent/guardian or encourage/allow a person to sign on behalf of another party.

socializing, congregating, engaging in inappropriate conversations, communicating through social media, entering personal business relationships, etc., is strictly prohibited.

Fraternize with students

Insult, reprimand, discriminate against, or criticize a student regarding their behavior, actions or demographic information this includes discussing a student’s file with fellow employees in a negative manner. This clause does not restrict an employee’s protocol of disconnecting a call where a student is verbally abusive or using offensive language.

Have a cell phone out at any time with exception of accessing the mobile token app to login to Federal Aid websites.

Manipulate or misuse the phone system.

Knowingly give a student misinformation or commit misrepresentation.

Input comments on a student’s file that are false or misleading.
