Mandatory Reporting
Mandatory Reporting refers to the legal obligation that requires certain professionals to report suspected cases of abuse of children or vulnerable adults.
Who is a vulnerable adult?
An adult who is not capable of self- support
An adult who is 60 years old or older
An adult who is in an assisted living or memory care community.
Who are mandatory reporters?
Healthcare Workers
Social Workers

Anyone who works with vulnerable adults or children. This includes SRCs like you.
Mandatory Reporters are legally required to report suspected abuse within 24 hours of the interaction.

Can I report anonymously?
No. Your mandatory report must include your name and that you work for APFM.
We will not contact either the community or the family after the report is filed.
How to make a Mandatory Report?
1. Make a report with the appropriate state/province reporting agency
2. Complete a follow-up form for APFM with all important details
