The Wheel
(It's not proved)
However, the ancient Mesopotamian people are widely believed to have invented the wheel around 4200--4000 BC, It is likely to have also been invented, independently in China, around 2800 BC.
Who made the Wheel?
What's the importance of wheel.
Wheels, in conjunction with axles, allow heavy objects to be moved easily facilitating movement or transportation while supporting a load, or performing labor in machines. Wheels are also used for other purposes, such as a ship's wheel, steering wheel, potter's wheel, and flywheel.
- First, transport: the wheel began to be used on carts and battle chariots.
- Second, and more importantly, it contributed to the mechanisation of agriculture (animal traction, crop irrigation) and craft industries (for example, the centrifugal force of the wheel is the basic mechanism in windmills).
This innovation led to major advances in two main areas.
Historial Context:
1-Wood Wheels 2-Stone Wheels 3-Rubber Wheels
Over the years there have been different types of wheels such as:
How many types of Wheels exist?
- -Transportation.
- -Population (fertility) (technological advancement from the wheel, more travel methods for a selection of healthcare)
- -Entertainment
- -War; progression in military vehicles, national defense.
- Importing/exporting goods; ability to transport goods quicker and more efficiently
Impacts of Wheel in the society:
4. Wheels are relatively simple mechanisms and have relatively fewer moving parts that can break or wear out.
3. Wheels provide excellent maneuverability, making it easy to turn and change direction.
2. Wheels can be used in a wide variety of settings and applications. They can be used for transportation on roads, tracks, and even off-road terrain.
1. Wheels are incredibly efficient at moving objects over a surface.
Disadvantages:
Advantages:
3. Tyres require regular maintenance, such as rotation and alignment adjustments.
2. Quality wheels can be expensive to purchase and replace.
1. Punctures or damage can lead to flat tyres, causing inconvenience and potential safety hazards.
