Suicide is preventable. Anyone can make a difference with a student, colleague, or family member.

WHAT IS ASIST?

ASIST is...

  • A suicide intervention skills training program
  • A two-day interactive workshop in suicide first-aid
  • A framework that can be applied to youth or adults
  • Having suicidal thoughts or behaviors
  • Can be taught to anyone!

Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training

During ASIST, participants learn to:

  • Recognize when someone may have thoughts of suicide
  • Provide guidance and suicide first-aid to a person with these thoughts
  • Identify and apply the key elements of effective suicide safety planning
