Shark permits

Zoos would have to keep necessary permits to be able to care for these great white sharks and that can be a very difficult task. Keeping and maintaining these permits are a lot of work for zoos and most sharks kept in captivity do not live long enough for the work it takes to keep these licenses.

Food Problems

The amound of food that sharks eat is outragous. They have big bodies and need a lot fo food to keep their energy levels up. By keeping them in captivty, zookeepers would have a hard time providing enough food to sustain them as it can become expensive.

High death rates

. In the long run, injury and stress is what kills them. There bodies and minds are not made to live in small spaces which causes them to die quicker. The longest any shark survived in captivity was 6 months. However, every attempt in between was only a few days. Sharks take a lot of resources and space to maintain, and zoos have struggled.

Sharks in captivity

Sharks are known to die quickly in captivity no matter how well kept they are. Living in a small space causes them to become disoriented and they can injure themselves by scraping against the sides of the tank leaving cuts on their bodies that can become infected. It has also been found that great whites eat less and less when in captivity, starving themselves to death

Write a great headline

Migratory species
